Graduate Clinical Internships

We offer a beautiful furnished office space and an opportunity to get supervision from some of the most experienced sex therapists in the area as well as the area’s only fellowship trained sexual medicine specialist. We value a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach. Clinical interns should have a strong base of knowledge and experience regarding therapy on general mental health concerns. Please note we only take trainees who have already begun study of sex therapy or sex counseling and are intending to complete AASECT certification. Typically we ask clinical interns to have at least 25-40 hours of training specific to sex and relational therapy prior to beginning their internship. We are taking applications from students in doctoral programs, or master’s in Social Work, Marriage and Family, Mental Health Counseling, Clinical Psychology, or Clinical Creative Arts Therapy.

Undergraduate Internships

This unique opportunity focuses on creating and implementing initiatives without direct client contact. If you’re passionate about psychology, public health, or marketing and enjoy working on special events and projects within a collaborative team setting, this internship is for you. You must currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in psychology, counseling, public health, health sciences, or a related field. You must have passion for sexual health and community involvement, and demonstrate strong organizational, communication skills, and social media literacy.

Projects from past interns:

Milena Insalaco (she/they) Undergraduate Intern

From June 2021 to August 2021, I worked on three resource guides: a Trans and Non-Binary Resource Guide, a General Resource Guide, and an Asexual and Aromantic Resource Guide. This included assessing past materials to see if they meet the criteria to put on the list, gathering and finding resources to put on the list, and organizing these resources. For each resource I wrote a short bullet point description and included a link to the resource if applicable. I also attended RCSW’s monthly meetings during my time there, and at one of the meetings, I presented the Trans and Non-Binary Resource Guide. During the Summer of 2022, I reviewed and added a few more resources for the Trans and Non-Binary Resource Guide as well as I walked with RCSW during the Rochester Pride Parade.

Noelle Chasman (she/her) Undergraduate Intern

From May 2024 to August 2024, I served as a Social Media Intern at RCSW. In this role, I was responsible for creating and managing weekly posts that functioned as both educational resources and marketing materials for the center. My key responsibilities included:

Conducting in-depth research on various sexual health topics.
Designing visually engaging posts using Canva.
Monitoring and analyzing social media channels to optimize engagement.
Collaborating with Dr. Kranz and other center members to gather accurate information.

Additionally, I actively participated in RCSW team meetings and attended Dr. Kranz’s sex education office hours to further my understanding and contribute more effectively to the center’s initiatives. Noelle Chasman, Nazareth University Undergraduate majoring in Marketing and Public Health
