Biography

Grace Joyner is a clinical psychotherapist with her LPCAT, specializing in sex therapy and the modality of art therapy. She is currently under the clinical supervision of Daniel Rosen, LCSW-R CST.Grace sees individuals, couples, and groups from Monday through Friday.

Grace focuses on relational dynamics and partner attraction, working with a wide spectrum of sociosexual orientations: asexuality, autosexuality, demisexuality, sapiosexuality, and various relationship structures like monogamy, polyamory, swinging, and ethical non-monogamy. She understands that much like mismatches of desire, sociosexual mismatches can occur as well, and she is skilled at helping partners navigate boundaries to find relationship structures that suit their needs.

She addresses psychophysiological concerns related to sexuality, such as erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, anorgasmia, performance anxiety, and sexual pain. To ensure comprehensive care, she collaborates closely with Dr. Kranz.

Grace has a deep appreciation for the cultural and racial backgrounds of her clients, shaped by her own experiences and heritage. She is deeply committed to serving underserved communities through a trauma-informed approach. Grace believes that knowledge is an essential tool for empowerment, and she strives to help her clients gain a deeper understanding of their experiences, identities, boundaries, and neurological systems.

She brings a nuanced understanding of the long-term effects of multigenerational adversity, recognizing the impact of trauma on the brain and its influences on individuals’ ability to process and articulate their experiences. Through the therapeutic use of art, she creates a space with clients to safely explore and express difficult emotions and memories, effectively overcoming the barriers that traditional modes of communication may present. Her approach not only honors the resilience and strength of these communities but also fosters healing by validating their unique stories and perspectives.

One of her standout qualities is her dedication to supporting neurodiverse individuals. She recognizes and embraces the diverse ways people experience and navigate the world, and she’s willing to adapt her approach such as encouraging clients to self-advocate to take off shoes, sit on the floor, or provide additional structure to session, adjusting her environment to make clients feel comfortable.

Her approach is creative, empathetic, and authentic. She strives to make every client feel heard, respected, and validated throughout their therapeutic journey.
