William Kelly, LCSW-R, DST

Mr. Kelly has been a cornerstone of the Rochester Center for Sexual Wellness since its founding. Over the years, he has mentored many clinicians in sex therapy and in the treatment of individuals who have caused sexual harm.

Now transitioning into an emeritus role, Mr. Kelly will continue to contribute his expertise through select forensic evaluations while no longer maintaining a psychotherapy caseload.

Mr. Kelly is a New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-R), a Diplomate in Sex Therapy and Certified Supervisor with the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT), and a Clinical Member of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA). His forensic work includes evaluation and consultation related to sexual offending behavior, risk assessment, and treatment planning.

His career has encompassed leadership roles in outpatient and inpatient mental health and substance abuse programs, with extensive clinical experience addressing sexual functioning concerns, compulsive or problematic sexual behaviors, gender transition support, and sexual identity integration. He has served on multiple professional boards, including AASECT, the Gay Alliance of the Genesee Valley, and NYS ATSA.

Mr. Kelly has served as adjunct faculty and lecturer for several universities and has consulted with agencies and clinics across the U.S. for more than 30 years on diverse issues of sex and sexuality. He holds a B.S. in Social Work from Rochester Institute of Technology, an MSW from Virginia Commonwealth University, and completed a LEAH Fellowship at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in the Department of Pediatrics (2003–2004).
